The Pirate's Code of Data Honor

Effective date: the day this ship set sail. Last updated: April 2026.

Ahoy, fellow seafarer! Ye've stumbled upon our privacy policy — or as we call it aboard this vessel, the Pirate's Code of Data Honor. And unlike that other pirate code, this one is not merely a set of guidelines. We take it dead seriously.

Article I — We Plunder No Data

cutearr.com be a client-side application. Every single QR code ye forge is created right there in yer own browser. No data — not yer URLs, not yer WiFi passwords, not yer grandmother's vCard — ever leaves yer device. We have no server to send it to. We have no database to hoard it in. We couldn't steal yer data even if we wanted to (which we don't).

Article II — No Cookies in the Galley

We don't set cookies. No tracking cookies, no session cookies, no "we just need this one tiny cookie" cookies. The galley is clean. Yer browser's cookie jar remains untouched by our scurvy hands.

Article III — No Spyglasses on Deck

We don't run analytics. No Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Hotjar, no pixel trackers, no fingerprinting scripts. Nobody is watching what ye do on this site. We don't know who ye are, we don't know where ye came from, and frankly, we prefer it that way.

Article IV — No Third-Party Stowaways

We don't load third-party scripts that track ye. The only external resources are the fonts we use to make things look proper pirate-y (served by Google Fonts, which has its own privacy policy). That's it. No ad networks, no social media widgets, no invisible stowaways hiding in the cargo hold.

Article V — Local Storage & What Stays on Yer Ship

Yer QR code settings (colors, shapes, and such) may be stored in yer browser's local storage so they persist between visits. This data never leaves yer device. Ye can clear it anytime by clearing yer browser data. We never read it — it's between you and yer browser.

Article VI — Hosting & the Seas We Sail

This site is hosted on Vercel, which may collect standard server logs (IP address, request time, etc.) as part of serving the page. This is standard web infrastructure and is not something we control or have access to. We don't use these logs for anything.

Article VII — Children Aboard

This site doesn't collect any personal information from anyone, including children. Since we collect nothing, there's nothing to worry about here. Young buccaneers are welcome.

Article VIII — Changes to the Code

If we ever change this policy, we'll update it here. But honestly, our policy is "collect nothing" and it's hard to get simpler than that. If anything changes, the date at the top will be updated.

Article IX — Questions?

If ye have questions about this policy (though we're not sure what they'd be — "Do ye really collect nothing?" "Aye."), send a message in a bottle to hello at cutearr dot com.

TL;DR — We collect nothing. Yer data stays on yer ship. Fair winds to ye.
